Introduction

The Wakely family has been providing personal and sensitive help to the bereaved for four generations, since the company started in Broadwindsor and later moved to Bridport more than 80 years ago. Clive's grandfather, founder Jim Wakely, passed the business onto Jack Wakely who is still actively involved. Sons David and Clive are responsible for the day to day running of the company, and David's son Simon has joined the family business.

Because of its strong presence in the local community and its policy of providing the right advice, assistance and expertise with sensitivity and dignity, Wakely Brothers has built up a reputation as a leading independent funeral director.

Membership of the National Association of Funeral Directors, The Society of Allied and Independent Funeral Directors and British Institute of Embalmers means adherence to strict codes of practice, with fully qualified staff including skilled monumental masons.
